Drafting Rules (CRITICAL on bike)
Draft zone length

Penalty Card System
BLUE CARD
Drafting (12m zone, 25 sec to pass) or littering outside drop zones
→ 2-min penalty in tent (T2 exit). 3 blue cards = DSQ.
YELLOW CARD
Blocking, position violations (bike) | stop & go on run | uniform/jersey issues
→ 30-sec stop in tent (BIKE) or beside referee (RUN).
RED CARD
Non-compliant gear, course cutting, unsportsmanlike conduct, doping
→ DSQ — disqualification.
Top DSQ Traps to Avoid
- ❌ Headphones / smart helmet / AI glasses on RUN — DSQ
- ❌ Phone / camera / video device used during race — DSQ
- ❌ Bike cover in transition area — not allowed
- ❌ Fins, paddles, pull buoys, snorkel in swim — DSQ
- ❌ Wetsuit when water >24.5°C — DSQ (wetsuit-legal: <16°C mandatory)
- ❌ Bottle/hydration in FRONT of race suit (Rule 5.01m) — DSQ
- ❌ Nudity in changing tent / public — DSQ
- ❌ Helmet not fastened BEFORE touching bike → BEFORE bike start line
- ❌ Crossing finish line with anyone (friends/family/pets) — disqualification risk
- ❌ Not returning timing chip after race → 100€ fine
- ❌ Backing out of draft zone once entered — drafting violation
